IAM & IEM Standards Certification Training

Course Description:

Security Horizon is teaching a 3-Day version of their popular NSA IAM and IEM Certification BootCamp.  Having taught over 3000 students the IAM and IEM, Security Horizon is the most experienced practitioners/instructors of the IAM and IEM.

NSA INFOSEC Assessment Methodology (IAM)
Individuals will be trained in the IAM so they can use their INFOSEC analysis skills along with the IAM training to provide the standardized IAM assessment service.  The IAM is a baseline methodology for organizational assessments.  Although many contractors provide INFOSEC assessment services, their processes, terminology, scope and costs vary widely.  The IAM is a flexible methodology developed for the benefit of organizations trying to obtain an INFOSEC assessment that provides consistency and meets their needs.

NSA INFOSEC Evaluation Methodology (IEM)
The IEM is a comprehensive technical evaluation methodology which analyzes technical components through 10 technical activities.   Students will learn how the information defined during the IAM process will be used to create customized roadmaps for increased security posture.  Hands-on experience with recognized security tools is included as part of the training in order to increase each student's familiarity with commonly used evaluation software.  The course ends with instruction in the techniques utilized to create the Vulnerability Criticality Matrices and provides important information on the creation of a reusable metric to measure a customer’s security posture. Formal comprehension of the NSA IAM is required to understand how the IAM & IEM work together to provide a complete security assessment.

NSA Certification Requirements
This 3-Day version of the IAM/IEM BootCamp can result in two (2) certifications if you meet NSA’s Requirements:
o    (IAM) Five years of demonstrated experience in the security field, with 2 of the years directly involved in analyzing computer system/network vulnerabilities and risks.
o    (IEM) 6 months of experience conducting evaluations or utilizing evaluation tools.
